• Psychological Therapy

We use a variety of evidence-based therapy modalities depending on your current symptoms, concerns, and/or diagnosis, your preferences, and your treatment goals.

We predominantly offer Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and incorporate other therapy modalities where clinically indicated. This may include Trauma-focused therapies, Mindfulness, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

We offer therapy to children, young people, and adults. Some referrals may not be accepted due to psychologist availability. We may refer you to other services if your symptoms are severe or acute in nature or if your treatment needs fall outside our scope of practice.

  • Formal Psychological Assessment

    Cognitive Assessments

We offer cognitive and developmental assessments for school aged children and young people. Your child’s school or doctor may recommend these assessments to investigate your child’s cognitive and intellectual functioning, explore their learning profile, or to assess for specific learning disorders (such as dyslexia). You don’t require a referral to access these assessments. The cognitive assessment can be combined with a neurodivergence assessment if required.

    Neurodivergence Assessments

We offer Autism Assessments and ADHD Assessments (children and adults).

Please note, for ADHD assessments the involvement of a paediatrician (children) or psychiatrist (teens/adults) is best practice as a proper medical work up is needed to ensure there are no underlying medical/organic reasons for the symptoms (Some individuals may choose not to see a specialist doctor if they are seeking an ADHD assessment for the purposes of understanding their neurotype and implementing self-help strategies at home/school/work).

In some instances, going directly to a paediatrician or psychiatrist may be a more efficient way to explore a potential ADHD diagnosis, particularly if there is a strong indication of ADHD (e.g. your child’s GP may refer your child straight to paediatrics).

However, a psychological assessment and report is generally very detailed, using standardised assessment tools, and can provide the treating paediatrician/psychiatrist with the right information to inform their decision making when they see you. The psychological assessment report will also provide support recommendations such as adjustments and provisions for school/home/work (where needed).

The paediatrician/psychiatrist and your GP will remain responsible for the recommendations, prescription and/or ongoing management of any ADHD medications (where clinically indicated).

Please contact us for further information about assessment packages and pathways, psychologist availability, and a quote.

  • Coming Soon - Groups

We plan to offer a low-cost perinatal mental health group in 2024. Small groups of 4-6 adults (all gender identities welcome). Evidence-based information, resources, and CBT strategies will be a focus. If this sounds like something you or a loved one will benefit from, please go to the contact page to leave your details.

We will look at other groups to run too. If there is a specific need or program you would like, feel free to drop us an email.
